We are looking for our a Nursery Manager and practitioners to join our growing team

Lead, inspire and help shape the future of one of Surrey and Hampshire's most exciting outdoor nurseries.

Hidden Valley is a unique, fully outdoor Forest School nursery set within 30 acres of beautiful private woodland in Grayshott. Our children spend every day immersed in nature, exploring, learning and growing outdoors in all seasons and all weathers.

Having opened in January 2026, we are already operating close to full capacity, with a growing waiting list and exciting plans for the future. We're a small, passionate and supportive team, looking for the right person to help lead us through the next stage of our journey. This role would suit someone who is excited by the idea of building something special and wants the opportunity to make a real impact, rather than simply stepping into a well-established setting.

Nursery Manager Role

We are looking for an experienced Nursery Manager or an exceptional Deputy Manager who is ready to take the next step in their career.

We are open to either:

• a 10-month maternity cover contract, or

• a permanent full-time position for the right candidate.

Ideally, we would love someone to join us during August 2026 to allow for a two-week handover, with a formal start date in September 2026.

This is a genuinely hands-on leadership role. You'll spend your days out in the woodland alongside the children and team, with dedicated time to complete planning and administration from home.

We're looking for someone who:

✔ Holds a minimum Level 3 Early Years qualification

✔ Has experience as a Nursery Manager or an experienced Deputy ready for the next challenge

✔ Is passionate about outdoor learning and child-led, nature-based education

✔ Loves being outdoors and is happy working outside throughout the year

✔ Has a calm, warm and nurturing approach with children aged 2–5

✔ Is an inspiring leader who enjoys building and supporting a positive team culture

✔ Has Forest School experience (desirable but not essential – attitude and enthusiasm matter more)

Practitioner role

We are looking for a warm, enthusiastic and committed Nursery Practitioner to join our team. We are open to both full-time and part-time applicants for the right candidate.This is a hands-on role based entirely outdoors in our woodland setting, working closely with children aged 2–5 to support their learning, development and wellbeing through play, exploration and child-led experiences.

We're looking for someone who:

✔Ideally holds a Level 2 or Level 3 Early Years qualification, although open to unqualified candidates for the right person.

✔ Has experience working in an early years setting

✔ Is passionate about outdoor learning and child-led, nature-based education

✔ Loves being outdoors and is happy working outside throughout the year

✔ Has a calm, warm and nurturing approach with children aged 2–5

✔ Works well as part of a team and brings a positive attitude

✔ Has Forest School experience (desirable but not essential - attitude and enthusiasm matter more)
